News from the Central Coast

Well here is a bit of news from the Arroyo Grande part of the coast. Our cute little triplets got to come out of the nursery today. they were SO happy, they were running and jumping and doing the cute little goat spazz. If you have never seen that you are missing out! The weather was nice and sunny for a while. It does help the mucky pens dry up. But we know we still need more rain!

The ocean was really calm the other day when I drove past Shell Beach. I was surprised since it has been so windy and wild. during one of the storms Chris got some great photos of a sailboat that had broken from its mooring and was bashing against the Avila pier! it really didn't get too badly damaged.

The E week buzz is starting.  Since everything falls on the same week the jobs are getting divided. Brian will be in charge of Passover, I will be helping him decorate the place. Ben will be in charge of the concert and I can't remember what else, it was pretty involved!  Pray that new people will jump on board and realize what a great opportunity it is to get to know more people!

The men's retreat is this weekend , I will have to get one of the guys or more than one to write something and put some pictures up.

The women's conference will be in May. I am looking forward to that.

I have Bible study tomorrow, Daniel 7 !!!!  I also get to spend some time with a dear friend, we have known each other since third grade and were college roomates. Her son swims for Cuesta so she is over here to see their meet. Fun Stuff!

02/22/09 Sunday Morning Worship

Hey there everyone. We have got a couple different comments from missionaries who miss hearing worship in english. The hope is to try to bring that to you. This is the first week (Lord willing) of many. We would love to send the worship through music from Shoreline straight to you. The best way to get this to you is still in the works, since it might be best for you to be able to download it and take it on the go.  (update: you can download this by copying and pasting files.me.com/jack274/ckymtt.mov into your browser)

God bless you

Michelle's Baby Shower!

Here are some pictures of Michelle's baby shower, compliments of Jessica and Brooke. They, along with Nikki, did an AMAZING job with decorating and planning and just about everything else! (That's little Caleb Sytsma smiling up a storm in the picture above!)

Here's some of the decorations on the tables. Everything was nautical themed. The shallow bowls had blue water in them with little boats floating around. There were these awesome boats on the table as well with candies filling them...so cute! We also got to decorate diapers and onesies. On mine, the back said "this side up" with an arrow (you know, on those nights that you just need a reminder?) on the front, diagonal, it said "FRAGILE". I thought it rather clever...=)

Mommies Michelle and Brooke! (Don't you just LOVE her necklace?) =) Brooke did a *great* devotion at the shower. She took Michelle's name and made an acronym of reminders for being a mommy. I can't remember all of them but "M" stood for Ministry...things like that (anyone else remember the words?). I was personally so blessed by it. Even though I'm not a mommy, I was convicted and challenged by Brooke's message of making your every day life worthwhile for the Lord.
And one last picture of Jessica and Michelle. Jessica made this YUMMY potato and cheese caserole! Oh man, I still want that recipe! =)

There are more pictures to come...including a few more "belly shots" for you, Peg!

The Triplets

Hi all
Here's an update on our goats. The last pregnant doe/nanny gave birth, to triplets! they were born Friday evening Feb 20th. They are doing very well. So is mom whose name is 'Tana (full name Lantana, she is from the group that got the flower names!) The babies are in the picture above the dk brown head sleeping, is Emeril, the honey colored head is Elmont (he looks exactly like his papa), and the little one peaking out from under mom, is Elsie the first born but smallest.(Her eyes are fine, just red-eye from the camera) As they get bigger and more active I will post more pictures. They are so cute! I slept , well not really, but I stayed up there the first night just to be sure mom didn't lay on them. I only had to rescue one once.
We had about three days of no rain, one day was very nice and sunny the next two were cloudy but still nice. Last night it was raining on the way back from Sat night service. Which was awesome, as all the believers stood a prayed to rededicate their lives to the LORD.
Meagan was giving her presentation about her calling to Mexico, so that was cool. We have the first 'dinner' for her care team today. It is very exciting to be helping Send another person from our fellowship!
We had a wonderful meeting of people from the fellowship that will be starting a new team to meet the needs of our fellowship, and we will be meeting once a month to train, on handling different crisis situations. There was great food and fabulous fellowship and abundance of prayer!
We'll be in touch soon, God bless you all, Jana

Wild Weather!

Wow! did we have some wild weather on the Central Coast yesterday! Rain, wind, hail, sunshine and EVEN SNOW! There are great pictures posted on different peoples facebook walls/blogs, but I will see if I can get them on here! The video on the news station (KSBY) website was amazing! I noticed that JM said it is raining in Jerusalem! Yay! we all will have to keep praying til we get all the rain we need. God is answering the prayers so far!
We are in for more stormy weather later this week! The surf should be amazing too, maybe we can get some shots of that too. The youth snow trip is coming up so they should have some great fresh powder to play in!
just a short note, more later , with pictures and first hand accounts, hopefully!

Visit to Cambria

This is inside the children's church

Any familiar faces?

As you enter what you see, I didn't get the wall to the left that had all sots of stuff on it.

The sign

Pastor Matt's new office, the former children's room!

I had a great visit to Cambria Calvary Chapel on Sunday. I am such a dork and didn't get pictures of Matt and La....Oh well guess I will have to go back!!! :)
It was fabulous to see them and to see how much the LORD is doing. The service was full, and that was with the kids all being down in their new children's church! Good thing or there wouldn't have been enough room! How glorious is that! Nancy was with me so we got to catch up on her latest adventures with Lifewater, on the trip up there.

The pictures ended up loading in the reverse order.
It was a wonderful day and a beautiful drive up there and back. Just a bit of sprinkles in the morning. We go there so early we were able to get some coffee/tea at the local coffee place. it was wonderful ice tea!
We will hopefully be getting someone from their fellowship to keep things posted from them.
Blessings to all from the chilly, wet, windy and in some places snowy central coast!
